Guys, with all due respect, why is Shawn having to remind any of us of
the NDA?
Of all lists, I would expect the Fed-Talk to be a forum of
professionals who take this stuff seriously. This isn't
Insanely-Mac.com.
Apple HAS recently created forums on the developer site where things
can be discussed under the umbrella of the NDA - if you want to discuss
things that are, or MIGHT be covered under the NDA, I suggest that is
the appropriate place to do so. The Federal ethics regulations often
cite the "appearance" of impropriety as the line that you shouldn't
cross - it doesnt' matter if you're breaking the NDA or not, this just
isn't the place.

Ruben,
It is unfortunate that you did not read/understand what I wrote
....
iPhone SDK 4 beta and iPhone
OS 4 beta are pre-release software and are considered Apple
Confidential Information.
Nothing was stated about public information posted on Apple's
websites. There is indeed value to folks to read, digest and discuss
that which is publicly posted. But as was plainly stated in my message,
I was referring to iPhone SDK 4 Beta and iPhone OS 4 Beta! There is no
wiggle room or vagueness in this.
With regard to NDA's, we have no way of knowing who is covered
by them and who is not. People covered by an NDA could be those with
access to the iPhone OS 4 SDK (I don't know for sure because I have not
seen the agreement) or those covered by a specific agreement with Apple
about which most of us would have no knowledge.
You might want to familiarize yourself with Apple's Developer
Programs before making these statements or treading on dangerous
grounds. Anyone accessing, developing for or using any aspect of
iPhone OS 4 Beta or SDK 4 Beta MUST be under NDA, period - no wiggle
room or vagueness!
This direction is simply to help remind people of the
commitments and responsibilities they have relating to access to beta
software/firmware from Apple. There have been *former* developers who
have lost that privilege due to forgetting what NDA stands for. I have
absolutely no authority with respect to this NDA, but I am wanting to
help folks avoid the problems that can arise.

I hate to disagree, but not "any discussion of the

I don't think anything discussed to date has referenced the
SDK. Moreover, it's entirely possible that Bryan had a conversation
with someone at Apple that was not covered by an NDA. If it is covered
by an NDA, then those persons should take it up with Bryan off-list.

When you agree to an NDA for access, it
means "Non-Disclosure". Please read.

Bugtraq is not the correct reference. I believe the author
meant to say that if you have any feature request or issue with a
currently shipping product, you can submit that at:
