I've been able to use iWork for 95% of things, the only errors I get are the MS fonts are missing that Office installs. when I bought my new MacPro and MacBook Pro which came with snow leopard, when I tried to install Office 2008 it wanted to install rosetta... to me a universal binary should not need rosetta so I avoided it... I use VMWare with Win Office if I must absolutely use MS Office.
I'd recommend using the NIH pricing to buy win7 and Office 2010 for windows and just use it through there when iWork won't suffice... I don't trust anything Microsoft on my machine... the things that slip through their QA is just mind blowing.
