Yup. You don't react to a threat if it's not worth your time.
And this is, what, their third or fourth attempt at countering the Get a Mac campaign which has been shelved for a year or so now? Get it together MSFT.
Apple's already eating your lunch:

<http://www.electronista.com/articles/10/08/09/apple.making.huge.dent.in.student.computer.sales/>
This is a continuation of the trend we first started seeing in .edu when Mac OS X debuted. It accelerated with the iPod, and is clearly off the charts with the iPhone. What's it going to look like next year once the iPad has been revved?
Apple's genius is in doing this in little itsy, bitsy pieces that individually weren't worthy of anyone's attention in Redmond. Poke a hole in the hull here and a hole in the hull there, little nicks Microsoft would never notice because they have Commanding Market Share™, and pretty soon the boat starts to fill with water. You start bailing while you're taking even more nicks and before long, you're the new mainframe.

Totally agree with kicking themselves. My opinion is that this is admission that Apple is becoming very competitive beyond just being highly influential to both Mac and PC customers.

Yes, a few of their points are valid.
However, the funniest ones to me were the "There might be incompatibilities."
Not that there are but there might.
MSFT, it's a stretch. MSFT would be doing so well if they'd quit kicking themselves in the teeth.

Hmph. Yes, some of the points are valid like: "Things just don't work the same way on Macs if you're used to a PC. For example, the mouse works differently. And many of the shortcuts you're familiar with don't work the same way on a Mac."
C'mon son.
But then under "Working hard" they #fail:
"On a Mac, out of the box, you can only encrypt your home folder. With Windows 7 Ultimate, you can encrypt your entire hard drive and even USB drives. So your stuff can be safer wherever you go."
Ergo FileVault circa 2005.
Any true experienced Apple professional can break this article down 20 ways in 3 minutes. If you would like me to go on I can. Yes, Macs do not come with Blu-Ray or TV Tuner cards but in the new digital world, media is moving away from "moveable parts" etc READ: Flash Drives, and Solid State. From a manufacturing point of view it makes more sense, less parts to break, the less time you are without your machine. Oh, and the part about Macs not being able to use "touch" that is just down right insulting!
Thank You,
