ZTerm works, but NOT on an XServe running 10.6 Server in 64bit mode. You
need to be running 10.5 or less or boot 10.6 into 32bit (which I was
never able to do - Luckily I had a decommissioned XServe G4 with OS X
Server 10.4 still in my rack)

I usually use ZTerm: http://homepage.mac.com/dalverson/zterm/
It's mentioned in the forum thread you link to, and it's correct that it
has not been updated for a long time, but I have found that it works
fine for me anyway.
