- Thread-topic: What is the relationship between Terminal.app and screen?
Does screen call Terminal.app?
How would one start screen with say iTerm.app as the terminal emulator
instead of Terminal.app?
I looked in the man page on screen and did not find anything or maybe I
missed it.
My google-fu was weak tonight so I don't recall any hits on pages that
explained the relationship
between screen and Terminal.app.
This is in relation to trying to connect a mac to a router. Everything
is Term this or Term that
When I search for serial terminal emulators.
Thank you
Raymond
PS: Not to throw stones, I realize that serial terminal emulator is not
as glamorous as an iPad, or iPhone, or MacBook Pro,
However by way of an analogy, toilet paper is not that glamorous either
but network managers need it and without
a serial terminal emulator to manage routers, switches, firewall,... the
bits will hit the fan.
If the iGods are listening I beseech you. Let drop the crumbs off of
your iPads and include a (USB-DB9) serial terminal emulation application
for the Mac,iPhone,& iPad so that we the (Apple hardware) poor do not
have to eat the rat droppings of Microsoft in order manage our routers.
Seriously, Dude I believe for the investment and the fight to keep our
Mac's in a Windows world it is a good strategic move.
Not suggesting
Just begging
raymond
