The version of GuardianEdge on NMCI (currently Hard Disk version 9.1.5 and
Removable Storage version 3.1.5) does not have MAC support.
GuardianEdge will have MAC support in their GuardianEdge Removable Storage
version 3.5.0 and above.
Full Disk Encryption by GuardianEdge is planned for their version 9.6.0.
Version 9.6.0 is expected to release around mid-2010.

Just tried it. No luck with GuardianEdge.

We use Pointsec media encryption at EPA and have the same problem. The
company lacks any Mac support for their media encryption software. There is
a workaround for their product, however.
For Pointsec, any removable drive with a folder called "bin" does not get
encrypted. Anything you put in the "bin" folder is ignored by the software.
Perhaps there's a similar trick with for GuardianEdge?

________________________________
I had a trouble ticket in with NMCI on this issue. I have an NMCI box, but
do all of my meaningful work on an iMac.
Bottom line: There is no Mac version of GuardianEdge, nor is there one in
the works as far as I could probe. It appears you have four choices:
1. Burn the data to optical disc on the NMCI box. From what the help desk
told me, GuardianEdge does not encrypt optical media.
2. E-mail the file elsewhere.
3. Run a virtual machine on the Mac and install the GuardianEdge decryption
software on it.
4. Bring your removable media to a Windows computer and decrypt the data on
it first.
None of these options are really a solution, only work-arounds. If you have
the means, I believe e-mailing the files would be the least painless. The
other options just add overhead to something that should be a very simple
task. I pleaded with NMCI to change the settings on my machine and disable
the "data-at-rest" encryption, but they said that cannot be done.
This is a crummy situation. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I work on an NMCI Laptop at work and when I bring work home, any items
encrypted cannot be decrypted on my MAC. Does anyone know of an "Apple"
version, or a possible work-around other than emailing every file to a
personal email from work?
