After reading a few messages about trying to procure iphone Apps Store
and no allowance for
governmental or non-profits to buy apps for the iphone. I thought that
there
might be a email@hidden. I could not find one.
Shawn:
As I recall your area of expertise is security and I know that keeps you
busy.
I am wondering when topics such as the procurement of iphone Apps by tax
exempt
organization such as non-profits, state, local, and federal government
come up
on fed-talk, do you pass the concerns of federal sphere along to the
Apple Federal Sales team?
I am not suggesting that apple sales use fed-talk to pitch products.
Although in the case of announcing a site or a phone number that provide
tax exempt organizations
with a way to procure apps for the iphone without charging tax then
a response or announcement on fed-talk would be nice for me.
I could see that others may not feel the same way that is why I was
interested in a
creation of email@hidden. That would publish general apple
information,
government contracts, FIPS 140-2 compliance, DAR in the iphone and ipad,
CAC support in iphone, download or view recorded webinars from DCO to
your iphone,...
/* Shawn, I am talking about the fantasy not the reality. There is no
need to comment
* my personal iphone wish list fantasy.
*/
In conclusion, Shawn and Apple, I apologize in advance for my ignorance
of apple's
business model. I unfortunately, understand that apple's business model
may
not justify investment by the iphone Apps Store in creating a site where
tax exempt non profits
can buy iphone Apps without paying state and local taxes.
Tax exempt organizations and government entities such as:
elementary schools, secondary schools, colleges, universities, churches,
synagogues, mosques, municipalities, cities, states, Wildlife
Conservation Society,
SUSAN G. KOMEN BREAST CANCER FDN,.... I understand that the iphone Apps
Store is
separate from the Apple federal sales team and therefore may not be
sensitive to the federal procurement environment.
I still am saddened that there has been no comment by apple
acknowledging
the requirements that governmental tax exempt entities have when they
need to procure iPhone
Apps. In particular the Federal Government will not pay state taxes.
If a government Purchase Card Holder or procurement specialist procures
an item and
tax is charged then the Card Holder or the procurement
specialist will spend a lot time trying to get that charge removed.
I don't know if any company has been barred from doing business with the
federal
government as a result of refusing not to charge the US Government state
and/or local taxes.
