That works. The other thing I like to do is to keep two copies of OSX Server, one that has a connection to get all of the updates and another to distribute them to closed loop systems. In this case, I can also add updates from other sources such as Microsoft for their office products or Omnigroup not to mention the others. This allows me to keep a record of what has been updated, and a simple command for updating machines on the network.

We're behind a proxy so the auto update doesn't work unless you specifically configure the http proxy setting (we normally use a pac file). I'm toying with the idea of doing a DNS re-direct to some sort of internal repository if I can figure out how the auto-update works on the back end. I'm thinking it's likely some sort of apache/IIS http repo.
Thoughts?
