i have a dilemma, and I am hoping someone here can help...
We have some PowerMac G5 machines (dual G5 - 2.0GHZ which still
outperform some of the newer Dells), and we are loading Mac OS X
Leopard Server on them (you cannot use Snow Leopard, because they are
PPC machines, and not intel)...
I've saved all of our serial number cards, but I only have one set of
media... the media DVD is bad... it gets half way through and stops
the install... this is several attempts on several different machines...
I went to the local Apple Store to try and get replacement media and
the store informed me Leopard is no longer supported, and I'd have to
get Snow Leopard server.... I do not need licenses, we have them, what
I need is decent media... and Snow Leopard is not an option on G5s.
I've noticed that the serial number tags have Support ID numbers on
them, but these were purchased well over a year ago so I am pretty
sure they are out of warranty...
how do I get a replacement Leopard Server DVD so we can install it on
our G5 machines???
(yes, where I am at we get no new apples, so I scrounge through the
excess pile and resurrect these machines, which still work great).
Any help appreciated...
Mike
