Some of you will remember that I've been requesting a Macbook Pro at work as an accommodation to my disabilities because it would be useful for other folks rather than just using specialized equipment for me. I got one this morning, but (maybe because I work for the Chaplaincy) we had a miracle.
The Mac I received was ordererd a year before I even submitted the PORF, (the last one submitted being October 09)! All the while I was being told that DOIM doesn't support them. I later learned that they were ordered and received, but just weren't given to me, fingers pointing in various directions about who made that decision, and why.
So I have a (purchased November 2008) Macbook Pro which is scratched up, only 2.5 GHZ instead of the 3.5 I ordered, 15" instead of the 17" I ordered (so I could use it if it's up against my nose as a stand-alone laptop if I had to use it apart from the big monitor) and used at home "for testing" by the admission of one guy (so who knows what was loaded on it). But I've got it.
I submitted a PORF for a new version of what I actually need (17" etc). I'm told it will go in the folder for "when we get money." Don't hold your breath.
If there are any issues I should know about let me know.
