Just tested it out on a machine running Leopard 10.5.8, works on both Safari and Firefox. Watch for the message on popup windows in Firefox (have to enable popups for the site). The one thing I couldn't test was digitally signing docs, only because I didn't have any in my queue that needed signing.
Way cool.

Below is some info related to using CACs on the Stanley Global [smartcard] Readers http://stanleyglobaltech.com/index.html
the referenced system below named "DTS" is Defense Travel System.
Snow Leopard seems to be confirmed working as well per:

Subject: [53L] DTS on MAC & Stanley Global Readers are now MAC compatible
Reply-To: Functional Area 53 Mailing List <email@hidden>
Hello,
The last week has been exciting (for MAC users particularly).
1. I received a link for a driver update that will now allow the
Stanley Global readers to work with Mac computers. You can download the
needed file from: http://stanleyglobaltech.com/Mac.html I have a few of
their readers listed on: https://militarycac.com/usbreaders.htm
2. I received an email early this morning (16 May) informing me that
a Mac user was able to access DTS now. It is true, go ahead and give it a
try. http://www.defensetravel.osd.mil DTS has moved over to the DBSign
Universal Web Signer (UWS). There is no software to download anymore to be
able to access DTS.
3. MAJ Chuck Wack has agreed to start answering emails for the Mac
questions on https://militarycac.com/apple.htm (I am very happy to have his
assistance).
I have tested both the driver update for the Stanley Global CAC readers and
accessing DTS from my older MAC running Leopard. I'm happy to let you know
they work great.
