What Snow Leopard DVD are you trying to install the Bootcamp drivers from?
Is it a retail copy or the disc that came with the MacBook? If it is a newer
system (sounds like it is since you mentioned i7), you should use the disc
that came with the Mac.
Also, it sounds like the Bootcamp setup does a crummy job of detecting the
architecture and running the correct package. Try running it directly from
the BootCamp64.msi file off the DVD rather than setup.exe.
