I just bought a bunch of iPhone/iPad apps via iTunes using a Government
charge card.
Apple did not charge sales tax, despite my California bill-to address.
Yay!
Also, noticed that iTunes store terms and conditions have changes wrt sales
tax, removing the Draconian:
"No customers are eligible for tax exemptions for transactions made on the
Service."
and now has this wording:
"Your total price will include the price of the product plus any applicable
sales tax; such sales tax is based on the bill-to address and the sales tax
rate in effect at the time you download the product. We will charge tax
only in states where digital goods are taxable."
If Apple has truly fixed this problem, thank you thank you thank you.
Would have been nice if you told somebody.
