We use it quite a bit. (?)
Connected my mother in the hospital with her great grand kids. Modern hospital providing open wifi to patients and visitors (Avera McKkennan).
Last Thanksgiving my wife's fingers were slashed to almost bone, just missed tendons in two fingers. Connected with FaceTime and got a medical consult from a good friend (Doc on this list in fact).
With all the iPhone 4's and iPad 2's, and FaceTime becoming an open standard, I would hope the impetus would be there to become well supported outside of Apple products.
Apple really does need to produce a Windows and possibly Linux version of the FaceTime desktop app to ensure success IMHO.
