Good to hear. I've been using an SSD for boot and apps on my home i7 quad-core Mac (I won't say which model since it's not exactly a sanctioned configuration :-), and i've very happy with my speeds. I also use a RAID 0 for my home dir (backed-up with Time machine and CrashPlan Pro), so that is fast too. When I back up to a spinning disk and boot from that the whole system is noticeably slower.
That all said, when I boot with Windows StarCraft II is much snappier :-(
