It's also called configuration management and testing; there are also
magic things like patch windows, validation, etc etc. Since this is a
Fed list we are ALL aware of the A&A world we have to live in (DIACAP
or NIST SP 800-53) and letting clients just go out and patch
themselves isn't a reality in that world.
I've given up though an any apple backend tool. Just go buy Quest
management extensions for SCCM, integrate OSX into your SCCM
infrastructure, and be done with it.
