This message obviously hasn't been posted to Fed-Talk yet so it's not official but I suspect that we will see something similar soon. It doesn't necessarily mean that the list is going away, it just means that it will be most likely be hosted in a new venue with new technology that adds significant value to these ongoing discussions and collaboration. Stay tuned.

I just checked https://lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo and there are a ton of lists and no mention of any going away or being combined. Of course, that doesn't mean Apple won't pull the plug on all of
them without much notice. I would hope this simply means they will be combining all of them into specific forums under their support or developer forum umbrella system.

This came across one of my other mailing lists. Is Fed-Talk going away?

Hello all,
The Mac OS X Server Mailing List along with other lists operated on the Apple Mailing List Server are set to transition to read-only mode at the end of April. At that time, no new subscriptions or posts will be accepted.
The list content will be available for some time afterwards via the Mailing List Archives.

Moving forward, Apple will be providing discussions in two different areas: Apple Support Communities and Apple Developer Forums.
Discussions for Servers and Enterprise Software are available here:https://discussions.apple.com/community/servers_enterprise_software
It has been my honor to provide support to this list since 1998 when we first introduced Mac OS X Server to Apple customers. Your support of Apple, OS X Server and this list is greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Conrad Klahn
