You can’t do it through Disk Utility because it wants the recovery key or an enabled user’s password. You can do it via command line diskutility.

Happy Holidays everyone!
The original question reminded me of a similar but different issue I have with
FV2. A thumb-drive with FV2 came loose without being dismounted first and it
cannot be unlocked (the user claims) nor can I erase it or reformat it because
it is locked. Anyone know of a solution? I've been thinking maybe I need to
find a Mac with System 8.1 or even Windoze 95 with the USB patch might be
required since I haven't been able to help using OS X, Linux, or XP.
TIA.

Subject: [Fed-Talk] Filevault 2 and AdmitMAC/PKI
New here and not sure if this topic has been presented before. Our
organization has issues with logging in OSX 10.8 when file vault 2 is enabled
in conjunction with AdmitMAC/PKI. Scouring the internet and it seems to be an
inherit issue with file vault 2 but just wondering if anybody has discovered
any fixes.
