Subject: [Fed-Talk] new smart card reader
Just found this new smart card reader: http://www.pluss-id.com/product/ The company bills it as "the world's smallest smart card reader". And it certainly is smaller than any card reader I've ever seen. Plus they've got drivers for OSX and linux as well as Windows.
Windows, Mac and linux
plugs directly into the USB port
Expands out from the size of a USB flash drive to a + configuration (hence the name "Pluss ID").
smart cards and CAC cards
micro-SC card reader built in
Designed by a couple of Estonian designers. And since Estonia has a national public key infrastructure, and the citizenry have national-issue smart cards for ID cards, I would expect the designers actually have experience with the use cases.
