WOW, we need to step back and take a breath here. Obviously we have a communication issue with Apple. I too have been working with Apple since 85. Along the way I have run into all kinds of normal corp. crap. It goes with the territory and now that Apple is huge (our fault) comm issues are huge also.
I have a feeling Apple would like a stake in our Soldier, Airman, Sailor, Marines safety. Lets make sure Apple can hear us loud and clearly.
Jean, what can Apple say about this?

The bottom line for me is that I'm in several groups looking to get smart phones into the hands of Soldiers for use in training, even in deployment and in war. I've fought long and hard to ensure that Apple products are always part of the discussion no matter how Windows phones are mentioned as the only choice. I consider Apple's behavior in this situation to be sloppy and unprofessional and a betrayal to users. I will no longer be their advocate to put their products with so little reliability literally in the hands of Soldiers and therefore possibly put Soldiers at risk.

I've been an advocate of Apple for literally decades and find it
hard to believe they are taking so long to resolve these two issues other
than "reset your phone" for the battery drain or "bad hardware" for the
charging issue which is obviously not the issue for so many devices.
I haven't experienced the battery drain problem, haven't looked into it, so
don't know anything about it.
But just a guess: Apple's developers have probably been working overtime
getting ready for WWDC. This year's WWDC was a mind blower for developers.
(Interestingly, the general press had a hard time groking the excitement. I
think they see "innovation" as new gadgets they can hold in their hands).
However, I am concerned that some of Apple's directions will negatively
affect (or at least be much less beneficial) to those in the government. As
a user, I loved Continuity and the increasing iCloudification of apps &
services (I can't wait to get iPhoto libraries off my workstations!). But
these technologies presume good Internet connectivity and seamless movement
of data between systems. For example, when your phone in your pocket rings,
you can answer it on your computer.
I can imagine seamless movement of data between devices and into the cloud
may encounter some bumps in government deployments.
