Some of the reasons I prefer a re-image where time permits:
* Apple depreciates methods of control like /etc/authorization and so you
may lose enforcement of something
* asl.conf for logging parameters versus wtmp
* Our version of SEP cannot run on 10.9, so an upgrade in place leaves a
non-functional AV
* If you run a non-FileVault disk encryption, you can put the machine
into a non-bootable state
(Time doesn’t always permit)
