You can't change the UID of a network account (in any meaningfully convenient and consistent matter--Just. Don't. Do. It. :) Direct file copy out of the mounted sparsebundle is easier and more reliable.
http://pondini.org/TM/B6.html was always my go-to reference when playing games with tmutil, but I got a new TM drive this time around so I didn't need to inherit the old backup to save disk space; I just shelved the old drive.
