I can verify the transverse does run on the Mac. I haven't switched from Adium yet, but a coworker has stated that it works fine with DCO.
The problem is that it will not connect to DCS, the replacement for DCO.
I do have a call into DCS support, but don't expect much beyond a "it's not supported on non-windows platforms."
My understanding is that it has to do with reading the shared library for the CAC. Transverse expects a windows library structure and the Mac doesn't have it.
We use Thursby Pkard to access CAC, since the smartcardservices setup on macosforge doesn't read oberthur cards, and PKard doesn't have a shared library.
A developer would need to write a jabber client that would use the Mac keychain for CAC authentication and then it would work.
