After installing Yosemite and installing the JRE, my Symantec update still complaints with an error and I get a message to install the JRE. I installed it again, still did not work.
I then decided to uninstall the JRE which Oracle says to delete the plugin. But the System Preferences pan still remains. Right clicking on it to remove it results in an error. Rebooting did not help.
Is ti possible to remove the preferences pane for Java?
On my other Yosemite machine I need to get Java to work, if nothing else to keep Symantec updated. Any tips on that?
Carlos
