Ok, so basically, the only solution is still the
InstallationCheck script, a solution which is
still the best one and supported for 20 years.
If you're developing your package on 10.3, when
InstallationCheck was documented as the best
choice for what it does, then yes.
Otherwise... distribution scripts.
