OT- Windows review of different HW Bluetooth modules

A little bit off topic but here is a review of different hardware modules of Bluetooth equipment. The D-Link DWB-120M USB Bluetooth-adapter is not reviewed. I think it is because it doesn't have windows support. Reviewed are 3Com Com One Mitsumi Stollmann TDK USB dongles. Apparently the TDK came out best out of all test. But from what I have seen it is the most expensive. http://www6.tomshardware.com/network/02q2/020626/index.html But for my point of view (as a CE student) the TDK is not a option (I don't have the b,180 for it :( ) So here's the Q: Will the D-link modules ever start shipping/ selling again? According to the Apple page it was b,70 for me, I can afford that if I stay of the Pizza and beer for a while :) And what would be the best development modules for me to design my own PCB with Bluetooth. CSR has chips but after the Ericsson reports earlier on the list I don't know what to chose. Hi Matthias, We had a lot of problems with the Ericsson Development Kits and their USB support. It would show up to the system (sometimes), and when it did our USB stack didn't seem to care for it, and thus Bluetooth never got loaded against the device. Btw, your system profiler trace was stripped off - if you could send it to me directly, that would be great. We don't support serial devices, only USB. However, an ambitious 3rd party should be able to create an HCI controller of their own to support Bluetooth PC cards, or whatever.... Hi There. I'd like to ask for support for another BT module, the Ericcson ROK 101 007/21 Module that we use in a self-made board. it is similar to the early Ericsson Bluetooth Development Kits. When I plug it in, its not recognized from the System ( Bluetooh: Not Available in the Status Bar) I run IORegistry and the System Profiler. Its listed there, so I assume the module and its USB connection are working. I'll attach the Report from the System Profiler. Any ideas ? I ordered two ACER modules as they are sold for US $50 each, but we have a lot ( 20.. ) of those Protyping-Boards that can also be used over a serial connection ( which is a little unconvenient since there are no serial ports on mac nowadays, (ok, XServer..)) Even with this nifty keyspan usb-2-serial box, I am not able to use the Apple BT Stack, or is it possible to use a serial connection to access the HCI ? I stand corrected, The 3Com Bluetooth USB module works great on my Mac OS X iBook. I assumed that it didn't work because the LED did not light up. That being said, we have seen 3Com dongles that don't even show up as USB devices in the system, so our stuff doesn't even get loaded against it. So, first verify that the 3Com dongle shows up in the system. You can run Apple System Profiler and it should be in the 'devices' tab. If it is not there, I would say the dongle is defective. All USB dongles? Hmm... I own the Dlink module and it works fine, but my Mac doesn't work with the 3Com USB module. How do you generate a System Profiler or USB prober report?
