I see nothing in the PacketDecoder relating to this connection attempt, and nothing in the system log or console. Is it possible to accept incoming L2CAP channels, and how do I do it? When registering an L2CAP-based service using IOBluetoothAddServiceDict(), the system will automatically accept incoming L2CAP channels with the specified PSM. If you have the PacketDecoder running, you will see any incoming L2CAP channel connect attempts (even those that get rejected). You also should see the incoming connection request HCI event and the subsequent allow connection HCI command. Make sure you have the 'CMD & EVENTS' and 'L2CAP' options selected in the PacketDecoder. If not, those packet types will not be displayed. One other issue that you may be hitting is that the IOBluetoothAddServiceDict() API in the SDK only keeps that service registered as long as the app that registered it is running. Once that app quits, the service is un-registered and the L2CAP channel is no longer accepted. Another profile-supporting feature coming in 1.0 is the ability to register persistent services. With that feature, you don't have to remain running all of the time. HCI & L2CAP Access

Hello there, I'm a PhD student in Switzerland and I need to communicate between my macs and some selfmade microcontroller based bluetooth nodes. For this to work, I'd like to be able to send and receive HCI packets as well as use L2CAP connection to one of those devices. I just browsed through the SDK documentation and I found out: - I can't access HCI layer directly - it looks like I can't establish an L2CAP connection with a device that doesn't provide SDP services (which is the case with my devices) - For a L2CAP connection I need a user interaction. I don't want to have to. :) Am I missing some bits ? Is it possible to get the sources of the stack already ? I really would be happy to use Apple's stack instead of having to port Axis OpenBT or Linux BlueZ Stack... If there's anyone working on this lower level of bt deployment, I'd be glad to hear about it. Anyone know > of other working USB Bluetooth compatibles? There is no reason why the TDK should not work, we have one here and it is working fine for us. You might be sure the firmware you have is up to date, depending on when you bought it. If it is not working, if you could send us a System profiler report (or even better, a USB prober printout), that might help us figure out why. Also, you cannot plug the TDK dongle into the keyboard, as it requires too much power. But you should get a warning that tells you that... Our stack should work with all USB dongles, provided they follow the guidelines laid out in the Bluetooth Spec. Bluetooth USB devices

When I was at the Bluetooth COngress in Amsterdam last week, I heard the rumor, but no official notice that Apple is not going to ship the back-orders for the D-Link USB dongle. Can anyone say why? I have tried the TDK USB dongle, but it is unrecognized. Our development USB dongle, Psion works plug-n-play with the Apple Bluetooth stack. Anyone know of other working USB Bluetooth compatibles? For phone information your best bet is to look on the manufacturer's websites. If you follow the links from Ericsson on down, you can eventually get to a page on T39 documentation. The AT command set documentation will describe what information you can get from the phone via AT commands. The document you want is called: T39 Developers' Guidelines AT Commands In addition it also contains a section titled OBEX File System Layout which will describe what you can use an OBEX connection to the phone to put/get.
