After applying the change, I ran into one more problem on the server side. An exception would be raised after the connection was made. I found the problem, The function that removes the 'chat service' from the service dictionary was being called twice, once in chatBluetoothServiceInterface and once in ChatServerController. I just commented out [myBluetoothInterface StopProvidingChatServices] from the chatServerController code and everything works now. Changing the StopProvidingChatServices function to be more robust would probably be a better solution, but this fix is good enough for me now. I have one more tip. The service name offered by the server will be called '(Computer name) Chat Server'. My computer name contained Japanese characters and the client was unable to find the service. Changing my computer's name to plain english characters fixed the problem. "Voice Gateway" Services

Hello-- I am curious about the Voice Gateway service returned by the IOBluetoothServiceBrowserController when it is browsing my Sony Ericsson T68i (there are actually two listed). I cannot find any documentation to tell me what this might be, is this service an implementation of the Bluetooth "Cordless Telephony" Profile? If so, is there an API to utitlize it (it uses TCS-BIN for signalling, I can't find any support for that, and SCO connections for voice transport)? If it isn't this profile, what do I have to do to place a voice call using this gateway? Maybe a more appropriate question is: is this a Sony-Ericsson provided service or Apple's wrapper for more generic "Voice Gateway" services? Thanks. What version of MacOS are you using? I built a working server based on the RFCOMMServer sample, modified to talk to our device, on the Jaguar seed release. I have not had time to update it to the changed API in Jaguar. When running it on 10.1, I think I had exactly the problem you describe. Bluetooth simulation software

I'm a senior electrical engineer at Case Western Reserve University and am currently working on my senior project which will use Bluetooth. The project involves integrating Bluetooth communications onto a microcontroller board used in a LEGO lab course. The students build LEGO robots around the microcontroller board and then program the board using C to perform actions based on inputs from several sensors. To tackle the problem, we're first going to build a Bluetooth prototype board that simply displays commands sent from a computer and then send commands entered from a keypad. While I'm designing the hardware prototype, two other students will be writing the software. However, as I see it now, the software guys can't start writing code until I finish the hardware implementation. They need the hardware to test their software. Leading the my question: How do Bluetooth software developers test their code? Do you need the hardware? Are there any Bluetooth simulation packages available (Mac or Windows) so the software guys could develop the code while hardware guys crank away at the hardware Thanks, Andrew Jones ************************************************************ Andrew H.
