Bluetooth:Not Available

Hi all, I have a 1Ghz TiG4, that after purchasing a Bluetooth Apple and running the supplied firmware, the Bluetooth no longer responds. The Bluetooth controls in the file menu is grayed out and has a jagged line through it, when you try to open it, it says Bluetooth:Not Available. Any ideas? HID Device using the HID driver in 10.2.6

Hi. I'm trying to make a HID device that should use the included Bluetooth HID driver, in Mac 10.2.6 and later, to communicate with my iBook . I wonder how my remote device should define its SDP server to make the connections to the driver. I also wonder if the Class of device must be Peripheral to make it possible to use the driver or if it is only needed to specify the HID Class of service, following the BT HID profile, in the SDP. I hope someone can help me. Extending Apple's stack...

Back at WWDC 2002, Apple claimed you could extend their stack through "Kernel Objects". Unfortunately I was unable to get to this years WWDC where they talked about exactly that in the "Bluetooth Update" session. My information (from a year ago) says that you extend it using the "AppleBluetoothUSBHCIController" class. But I have searched everywhere for information on it throughout the documentation. Looking on old ADC CDs and DVDs for the old Bluetooth SDK without luck and I am just lost to what the heck they were talking about. Does anyone have any information on this? Hi guys, Eivind, if you'll have USB driver working other things are pretty straightforward. You need to send HCI_Inquiry command to the device command pipe via and read event from the event pipe. You specify maximum responses and inquiry interval and get back list of devices nearby. You can write a command line tool or kernel extension (kext). I actually did exactly that myself, I have somewhat working Bluetooth stack running on Mac OS X. This you can easily find out not only by asking a questions on a list but also reading older mails before, as it is the standard question asked by many. Hi, In my school-project I'm making an application that searches for nearby bluetooth-devices. What I'm trying to do now is to send a Remote_Name_Request to all the devices in a list. If I get a name in return, I know that they are within range. But when using this method the application seem to crash due to all the request, (?) (or maybe due to my programming skills :) I'm starting to think my solution sucks, and I'm wondering if there is another way to discover devices that are within range? I think it would make my day(s) a lot easier if I could make something like: - (NSArray *)scanForBluetoothDevices (that returns the device addresses to the bluetoothdevices that are within range) Can this be done? Libraries for Carbon development?

Hi, Does anyone know what I should do to link my Carbon Mach-O app that will get hold of IOBluetoothServiceBrowserControllerCreate? I am linking to the IOBlueTooth and IOBlueToothUI frameworks, but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick, and I can't find any other libraries to link to. And what are the IOBluetoothDeviceSearchDeviceAttributes structures defined in IOBluetoothUserLib.h for? They sound useful, but I can't find any routines to call that use them, which seems strange... --- Some will say that they were at one time troubled in sleeping but have recovered from it, as though awareness were a disease, as perhaps it is.
