Bluetooth data not processed in NSEventTrackingRunLoopMode?

In 10.3, the system software changed such that menu tracking occurs in NSEventTrackingRunLoopMode, whereas previously it occurred in the default mode. Because of that, now, I stop getting Bluetooth data from the OS (using either the old callback method or the new setDelegate method) when my app's NSStatusMenu is pulled down. This is absolutely unacceptable for me, since my Bluetooth device's whole purpose is to be used as the system mouse. Now it locks up when the user uses's the device to select my app's menu. Does Bluetooth processing only take place in the default mode? Bluetooth SCO Links

Hi All, I've noticed a few messages on this list about using SCO links with Bluetooth. The problem is that I haven't yet noticed any answers. This is just another expression of interest, and was wondering if anyone had any information as to when/if they will be made available via an Apple API? Opening L2CAP PSM channels

Hi All, I have spent a number of days working with the bluetooth stack on the Mac OSX. Its been particularly hard because the packet-decoder is not available. My issue is that while i can open any RFCOMM channel I want. I have trouble with L2CAP. My application is a modification of the sample Server RFCOMM program twisted to open connections with L2CAP. I simply wanted to experiment working with L2CAP. I can open an L2CAP channel with PSM on 1 & 3, but all others fail with a 0xe00002cd error. (This is from either Obj_C or C++). The error is described as #define kIOReturnNotOpen iokit_common_err(0x2cd) // device not open However, I have a device open command preceding the call. Another issue is that the client (or the server application) does not even notice a notification request. The only problem I can think of is something is some how blocking all access on ports other then 1 & 3. Does any one have any experience with this problem? Is there something I am missing? General structure of the app. Setup the server. Define an SPD Start the server. Define the listening notification Start client. Connect to server. See failure. Rinse repeat. And Happy Holidays all! Our current stack does not support multiple HCI controllers - only one at a time, allowing you the use of a maximum of 7 concurrent connections. multiple bluetooth nets?

Hello, Does anyone know if MacOSX supports the use of multiple bluetooth (USB) adapters simultaneously? What I'd like to accomplish is connecting 28 mice or keypads to a single computer. I'm planning to use wired USB but interested in a wireless solution. I'm hoping the bluetooth spec allows for 4 simultaneous piconets in the same room. Bandwidth will not be much of an issue in this project; response time will. Not owning a BT HID device I'm not sure how pairing is done. Would it be possible to automate this process? Hi! I've just subscribed to this mailing list and I'd like to introduce myself. Name is Peter Lendvai, age 25. I study information science in University of Miskolc, Hungary, with a special subject of telecommunications. I write my diploma about industrial telecommunication via wireless network. Originally, I wanted to use IEEE 802.11b Wireless LAN standard but becouse the department where I write the diploma has only Bluetooth equipment, I have to use Bluetooth to transmit data between computers. I would appreciate if anybody could send me any kind of information about programming the BT services, under Linux and/or Windows. Using BT under linux is the main concept but I need to know how to program BT in a windows environment as well. Thanks in andvance. The A835 works fine with iSync for iCal and Address Book syncing via USB. Other file types all work through Bluetooth File Exchange (Ringtones, Videos, Images, MP3s). PacketDecoder2 not working on 10.3.1

Hi! I have a D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth adapter. It works fine. However, I do anything with PacketDecoder2. It just says IOServiceOpen(): Error e00002bd returned when I try to open it. The WWDC 2003 ADC TV session 501 (if I remember correctly) talked something about the packet decoding facility being disabled in the normal Bluetooth stack, but that an enabled version would come with the SDK. To me it seems that there is no separate SDK and I can't see any separate Bluetooth stack anywhere. The A920 is a UIQ device, much like the P800; as such, there's no reason why it shouldn't be supported in principle. As I recall, it uses the standard UIQ PIM apps, so formats shouldn't be an issue in any case. Anyone know whether the motorola video phones with bluetooth a835 for definite, but possibly the a920, will be iSync compatible soon. All the apple stuff only refers to the usb motorola phones. I only ask because I am after a video phone, but one that I can use with iCal, etc. via bluetooth...
