Quirks with establishing incoming channel

Are there known issues with incoming channels? I'm having a problems which seems to be my incoming channel and my application getting "out of sync". Here's how things go when it works: I have a Bluetooth tablet. When my application starts, it sets up an incoming channel. I then use my application to establish a connection to the tablet. When it connects, my application transmits my local Bluetooth address to the tablet. The tablet stores that address. The tablet has a "Link" button that, when pushed, attempts to connect to the Bluetooth device corresponding to the address that it has stored. Usually, this works great. I can connect to a number of tablets, have my BT address transmitted to each one, and from that moment on, use the Link button on the tablets to re-establish connection to my application when desired. But there's two circumstances where the process gets hosed. First, if I attempt to connect to a tablet, but the tablet is off (and thus the connection attempt fails,) and then I turn the tablet on and hit the Link button to establish the connection from the device to the application, the tablet goes through its connection attempt cycle (about 10 seconds) and fails. And it continues failing each time I try it after that. Second, if my application unexpectedly quits (and thus never calls IOBluetoothRemoveServiceWithRecordHandle or unregister) and I start it up again and try to hit the Link button on a tablet to establish a connection, the tablet doesn't connect. But then if I exit my application (which goes through the the normal exit routine and removes the service) and restart it, I immediately get the incoming connection from the tablet, even though the tablet stopped trying to connect already and thinks that the connection failed. It's like the incoming channel is still open, and the tablet really does connect to it, but the connection between my application and the incoming channel is broken, so I never get notification of an incoming connection, until I restart the application, and then it apparently re-establishes connection to the incoming channel. audio over BT

Ok, judging by the generic bluetooth protocol stack, I will need access to the link manager to establish an SCO link and then direct access to baseband to send/receive packets with audio. Obtaining list of local services

I'm trying to retrieve a list of services on the local machine and in particular need to determine the names of the services. I've tried all combinations of things like: BluetoothDeviceAddress localBTAddress; IOBluetoothDevice *btDevice; result = IOBluetoothLocalDeviceReadAddress (&localBTAddress, NULL, NULL, NULL); btDevice = [IOBluetoothDevice withAddress:&localBTAddress]; [btDevice getServices]; However, this doesn't work on the local device (I gather it works on remote devices). Basically I've setup a callback that receives notifications of all RFCOMM channel open and close events: incomgingChannelNotification = [IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel registerForChannelOpenNotifications:self selector:@selector(newRFCOMMChannelOpened:channel:) withChannelID:0 direction:kIOBluetoothUserNotificationChannelDirectionAny]; -(void) newRFCOMMChannelOpened:(IOBluetoothUserNotification *)inNotification channel:(IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel *)channel { [channelClosedNotification release]; channelClosedNotification = [channel registerForChannelCloseNotification:self selector:@selector(channelClosed:channel:)]; } -(void) channelClosed:(IOBluetoothUserNotification *)inNotification channel:(IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel *)channel { // Do termination stuff } What I really want to do is only setup the close notification on a particular service where I know the name, but nothing else. Thus, if I can obtain a list of service names, I can make a match. I'm using /dev/cu.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync and therefore didn't setup the service. I'm using the serial port as there is some UNIX code that I'm connecting to and also need to hook the result into pppd after I do some initial negotiation. I've searched this list high and low and have yet to come up with the answer. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. BTW, did I miss the Bluetooth documentation somewhere? There appears to be header files and some basic information about the functions, but nothing more in-depth. We don't currently support SCO connections in the Bluetooth stack... So you are kind of stuck. You could implement SCO yourself, but that would be a lot of work. After connecting to Nokia 3650 using Handsfree Audio Gateway profile i get the following RFCOMM channel events: RFCOMM Event 0x017b6bf0 3 and after sending the AT command the response is RFCOMM Event 0x017b6bf0 6 does anybody know know what eventType 3 and 6 codes mean? Hi everyone, I have modified the included plist as shown below hoping to connect to the RFCOMM server from my phone. However, the server on the mac does not accept the connection - i never drop into the newRFCOMMChannelOpened() function. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Many thinks.
