Steve, Look at the following file: syncml_obex_v11_20020215.pdf I am not sure where I found it so just Google. I think that implementing SyncML on the mac side would be pretty straightforward - should not take more than a few days. ( I did something similar when implementing FTP over OBEX). Just look at the examples supplied by Apple. On the Nokia it could be way more complicated because I have not found any API for OBEX in the Nokia's SDK. The only thing that I know really well how to do is SPP on Nokia - everything else is kinda shaky. Again, you would have to implement the client on Nokia - the existing SyncML on the phone do NOT work over BT. hope this helps. Victor, thank you so much for spending your time to get me this information. That's indeed exactly what I found out myself meanwhile. However, there is some more documentation on the download page of the <www.openmobilealliance.org/syncml/> website defining sync services using OBEX. I agree with your assumption that Apple isn't probably using OBEX directly with their iSync but the protocol seams to fully support it (CONNECT, DISCONNECT, PUT, GET, ABORT described in the document: www.openmobilealliance.org/syncml/docs/syncml_obex_v11_20020215.pdf) Apple even itself seams to contribute to the Object Exchange Protocol definition (see. IrDA Object Exchange Protocol, Version 1.2, Jan 3, 2003). Although the use of OBEX for sync is looking pretty straightforward, I couldn't put it to work yet. The stated suggestions in the document don't give any specific hints how to implement it using the Apple OBEX API. If somebody at Apple could point me the right direction (any sample code e.g.) would be more then welcome. If you look at http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,5184,5371,00.html Nokia has some client software for SyncML which allows to sync your Series 60 phone with a remote server using data connection. This has nothing to do with bluetooth though. Does anyone have an idea were to look to set up iSync like data sync with any Symbian OS phone in general or the Nokia 3650 in particular and use (Bluetooth) OBEX protocol! We need to setup and develop a database sync scheme separate from iSync. Crashing connecting to and disconnecting from devices

Lately I've been having my app crash, mostly when disconnecting from devices but once when connecting to a device. The crash log for each crash shows me that the crashes seem to take place down in system software code, so I don't know what's actually causing the crashes. The most common crash takes place when I try to disconnect from a device. The circumstance is that it seems to me like the device isn't really connected in the first place. I It goes through the connection steps, and they all report success, but I'm not receiving any input from the device. So I try to close the connection and... crash. Incoming channel problem (seemingly) solved

Before setting up my incoming BT channel, I was starting a number of timers, a couple of which caused other threads to be started when they fired. Putting my code which set up my incoming BT channel after starting these timers seems to have caused some kind of sporadic problem with incoming connections not always completing. However, that will be changed at some point in the future and at that time the solutions I cited will work. But for now you're unfortunately out of luck. creating a virtual bluetooth device to bridge to a Cisco IP Phone?

Hello everyone, I am curious as to how best to add IP telephony to jaguar and beyond. I would really like to be able to dial from within Address Book phone numbers on a Cisco IP phone; however, Address Book is only set up to work with Bluetooth devices. Would it be possible to create a "bridge" application that would pretend to be a "virtual" Bluetooth device and relay commands to dial over to an IP phone? I've looked into IOBluetoothDevice and in a few areas, but the APIs don't seem to support this well. I thought I would ask here to see what people think of the idea.
