how to know if this computer is BT enabled ?

Odd problem with Bluetooth socket blocking

I've got 2 Apple Powerbooks (17" and 15" TiBooks), both completely up-to-date on firmware and software updates, with built-in Bluetooth. I want them to listen for incoming Bluetooth connections and take some action, so I used the Bluetooth Serial Utility to create a '/dev/tty.blueproxy' and then just 'cat /dev/tty.blueproxy' and see the incoming data when a connection happens. The odd thing is, this works fine on the 17" Powerbook, but on the 15", the open(2) call blocks forever (inspected through ktrace), even though the L2CAP baseband connection is successfully formed. Can anyone suggest any reasons why the open(2) might block? This used to work on the 15" PB as well, but things have been a bit odd since the most recent firmware update. Note that I have done the PMU reset, and that iSync and the Address Book SMSing works just fine on both laptops, and Bluetooth configuration setup is exactly the same. Problem with OBEX header parsing

Hello, I have a question about parsing OBEX headers. I am implementing a Basic Imaging Profile server to save pictures from my Toshiba A5504T phone (Japanese market). Everything is going well except that I miss the first Body header of the Put command that pushes the image to the server. In other words: CFDictionaryGetCountOfKey( dictionary, kOBEXHeaderIDKeyBody ) returns false even though I know the Body header is there. I think the reason is that the first Put command is also sending a user defined header (Img-Descriptor) with the byte code 0x71. When the program executes: CFDictionaryRef dictionary = OBEXGetHeaders( data, dataLength ); it seems to grab all of the headers correctly until the user defined header and doesn't parse anything after that (thus the body is lost). So my question is, has anyone else run into a similar problem? The user defined header follows the IrOBEX specifications so it seems that the parser should be able to handle it more gracefully than it is. Well, other than writing my own parser, are there any other suggestions? Thanks! What is the status returned from IOBluetoothDeviceRemoteNameRequest() - is it 0 (success)? IOBluetooth framework not calling my callback, why?

Hey all. when I call IOBluetoothDeviceRemoteNameRequest synchronously, it connects to the remote device, fetches the name, no problem.... however, when I provide a callback (as the API provides should result in an asynchronous response coming back at my callback), I just end up 'falling through' and my callback never gets called. I was playing with two zaurus SL5500 models, often they failed to detect each other or communicate within a short range itself. yes, there is no problem with the BT. Communication isn't the problem --- the P800 lights up its screen. It seems to be a permissions or protocol problem, as re-pairing from the phone solves it without having to remove or deactivate any hardware. Sending of files from the phone to the Mac also works --- it's just the exchange from the Mac to the phone needed for syncing that doesn't go to plan.
