Regards, -Mike Ellis I happen to have a few Bluetooth dongles lying around, so i plugged on into my 12" PowerBook with integrated Bluetooth 1.1 and found this in my system.log: Jul 27 20:38:58 caracal kernel[0]: Failing to load driver for new Bluetooth device: there is already a Bluetooth device in use on the system. That message, and a quick glance over the IOBluetoothLocal API make it pretty clear that only one BT Radio at a time is supported. A quick look at the javax.bluetooth package suggests that this is typical of bluetooth stacks, only a single local device is supported in the LocalDevice class therein. He would like to be able to connect multiple bluetooth adapters to a darwin-based system in order to effectively increase the bandwidth available for bluetooth communication. We actually are not attempting to consolidate the bandwidth offered by the two adapters. Instead, our application is designed to communicate with lots of individual bluetooth devices. On a per connection basis, the actual bandwidth requirements are quite low. Our intention is to create a central bluetooth server that is capable of managing lots of slow connections. We would like to add the extra adapter to effectively double the number of clients that the server can simultaneously support. So I suppose my question is: "Will Darwin's kernel-level bluetooth support take advantage of the extra bluetooth adapter in order to effectively double the number of bluetooth devices that can be simultaneously supported?" I am writing to see if anybody has tried something similar. It is not clear to me if the Bluetooth API will handle the associated multihoming of multiple bluetooth adapters or not. I do know that Bluetooth supports multiplexing across Connections with the same PSM by using some kind of sub channels, so multiplexing in RFComm should work even better. The best place to get started is in this folder: /Developer/Examples/Bluetooth/ It has some sample apps that show simple RFCOMM communication, as well as how to do service browsing, OBEX transfers, etc. There is no example on how to perform a device inquiry yet, but you can do that in Mac OS X 10.4 (only in the cocoa language, however, as some of the C APIs went AWOL in the 10.4 release). We encourage all development be done in Cocoa, if possible. I hope that helps get you started. Can anybody spot the error or has the same experience? nice work . I opened the project with my xcode (unfortunatly you are using an older version) maybee this causes the error ? smime.p7s

I've recently updated to OS X 10.4.1 and noticed the headest does not appears as a selectable choice for 'sound input', thus I'm no longer able to use the headset with Skype. This issue may be relate to the upgrade (I hope not) or to having unpaired the headset with the Powerbook. Subsequent pairing between the headset and laptop have not worked. Is this an a known issue?
