I can't seem to find much information about this. I am creating a Foundation Tool from an existing bluetooth cocoa application. After i remove all the GUI related stuff the application ceases to work. I checked out, and all the processisng of the application is run on NSRunLoop. The delays are still happening though, does Bluetooth traffic pass through other lower- priority processes perhaps? Blued? I've tried detaching a new thread using NSThread detachNewThreadSelector and had hoped that with all Bluetooth setup being done in that thread, i.e. publishing the service, registering for incoming connections etc. (all done using the IOBluetooth ObjectiveC rather than C function interface) would mean that notification and delegate methods would also be called in the context of that thread and its run loop. However they are executed in the context of the app's main thread and run loop, not what I want. I sense the answer is simple and assure you I've RTFM from top to bottom... We probably don't provide access to changing the bdaddr for security reasons but I could be wrong. This isn't a development question as such but I am developing Bluetooth apps for MacOS and it's kind of related... I have an Intel Mac Mini which has Bluetooth built in, but also have a Belkin USB Bluetooth adaptor connected to it as it provides class 1 transmission power. This adaptor is the one in main use. MacOS recognises it without any need for additional drivers as it has a Broadcom chip (shown in System Profiler), however there is one problem in that it refuses to pair with headsets. Belkin provided a fix for this in the form of a "Broadcom Mini Driver" kext, but it is PPC-only. So I am wondering if there is a way to have my headset pair with the Broadcom, e.g. by manually manipulating .plist files etc.. I can have the headset pair with my iBook G4 with the Belkin connected to it using Belkin's mini driver fix, perhaps that configuration could be copied over to the mini somehow?
