Well, it's sort of true. Bluetooth Classic in 4.0 is backwards compatible with previous versions of Bluetooth. However, we also have Bluetooth Low Energy in 4.0 which is not backwards compatible with previous versions of Bluetooth. Do I understand it that an iOS based device with Bluetooth 4.0 (LE) can communicate with an Bluetooth 2.1 based device? Does that device need to be MFI compliant?
