Incoming channel problem (seemingly) solved

Before setting up my incoming BT channel, I was starting a number of timers, a couple of which caused other threads to be started when they fired. Putting my code which set up my incoming BT channel after starting these timers seems to have caused some kind of sporadic problem with incoming connections not always completing.
