Even then, the simulator would not behave exactly like the device. I'm also developing Bluetooth-based apps and did not feel such an urge for a aimulator. What does prevent you from using physical devices to test the Bluetooth-based parts of your app?

In practice, they found that maintaining support for bluetooth dongles was very time consuming, as there's a lot of Core Bluetooth functionality implemented in the Bluetooth chipset firmware.
It would work for me to either a) take over the built-in chipset, or b) support only a single dongle. Does either of those make it easier?
