Aurilien, You should also consider that the module can be powered off, IOBluetoothLocalDeviceAvailable only tells you if the device is available. In the same header, few lines below there is: IOBluetoothLocalDeviceGetPowerState(BluetoothHCIPowerState* powerState). This will tell you if the device is on or off (or if it supports power switching at all, if it does not you should assume it is on). ...
