Are you referring to SyncML? As far as i understand it profiles are 'generic' and application using particular profile is responsible for providing compatibility with particular device. (i.e. field mapping in case of synchronization, etc...) The reason for my question is, i'm using Sony-Ericsson P900, and there are problem with syncing it using iSync software. Other phones from the same manufacturers sync fine every-time, without any problems. The T68i or T610 series use the IrMC profile to sync, which is a standard profile defined in the Bluetooth specifications, whereas the P900 is using the proprietary Symbian sync mechanism, which is NOT a Bluetooth profile. Usually re-pairing of P900 solves the issue temporarily. Unfortunately, this is the only solution, until iSync fixes the problem; I'm trying to understand the issue here, my thinking is: If bluetooth profiles are hardware independent, then issue lies with iSync, not working properly with particular bluetooth profile. In that case will any updates to bluetooth (like the most recent 1.5) will not fix that issue. I tried to sync P900 and T610 (both from sony-ericsson) and used BluetoothMonitor to see what happens, one thing i have noticed is that in case of T610 connection is being initiated and stays active much longer than in P900's case where connection stays active for ~2 sec, then being dropped. if you want more informations about the Symbian sync mechanism, just search with google using "symbian", "linux" and "p800" as keywords and you'll have your answers -- Fred _______________________________________________ bluetooth-dev mailing list | bluetooth-dev@lists.apple.com Help/Unsubscribe/Archives: http://www.lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/bluetooth-dev Do not post admin requests to the list.
