Before I progress too far with an idea I have, i’d like to know if a couple of things are possible. I already have an iOS app that can scan for a BTle device while backgrounded, what i’d like to do though is have iPhones detect each other. The ideal way for this to work would be for the app to run as a Central scanning for devices at the same time as being a Peripheral for other iPhones to detect. So really there is just 2 questions: Is it possible for an iOS app to run in both Central and Peripheral at the same time? (I can get around this by having certain users as Centrals and others as Peripherals but it’s not ideal) Is it possible for Peripheral mode to broadcast while in the background the same way Central can keep scanning in the background for hours?
