It’s probably the stupid list server, note the removal request comes from an Apple IP address, it does it to me at least 4 times a year and to various other people too, often in batches and nobody has ever been able to explain why.

Did you read the message? I don't see anything about "forceable removal". The email asks for your confirmation. As it says at the bottom:
"If you do not wish to be removed from this list, please simply disregard this message."
