Fwd: Caching of Inquiry results?
site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: bluetooth-dev@lists.apple.com I've reported this as bug #5018675 at bugreport.apple.com Begin forwarded message: _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list. Bluetooth-dev mailing list (Bluetooth-dev@lists.apple.com) Help/Unsubscribe/Update your Subscription: http://lists.apple.com/mailman/options/bluetooth-dev/site_archiver%40lists.a... we're using the COD of our embedded bluetooth network nodes (www.btnode.ethz.ch) as a way to identify nodes on which a particular application is running. This leads to a problem on Mac OS X as it looks like (at least) the COD is cached. Its not clear to me, why this is done, but playing with the Bluetooth Inquiry Example shows that the COD of my device does not change although I change it in parallel. Also, the COD of a discovered device is included in the HCI Inquiry Results, so this value could directly be used, if a device is reported. I've read in the BT docs, that the amount of Inquiries are throttled. What are the parameters for that ? Once every 10 seconds, every minute, every hour? I tried to call clearFoundDevices on the IOBluetoothDeviceInquiry object, but no change. Ok. Is there a way to "force" the bluetooth framework to use the real discovered CODs or to discard its cache?
