I'm informed that Tiger does not have the Bluetooth Serial Utility for defining serial ports that are not created properly during the pairing process. This is something that happens quite frequently with some phones (e.g. iPAQ 6315, XDA II, some Siemens & Moto models), and the utility was very useful for getting people out of a hole. I've now been contacted by some users of my modem scripts asking how to re-create the serial ports they used under Panther. Unfortunately, I can't afford to be on Tiger at present, because there are too many issues with some of the third-party apps I rely on. I gather it has a much more basic facility to create serial ports, but this does not seem to be doing the trick. Is there anything I should advise these people to try, or is there likely to be a Tiger version of the Bluetooth Serial Utility? This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
