This isn't a development question as such but I am developing Bluetooth apps for MacOS and it's kind of related... I have an Intel Mac Mini which has Bluetooth built in, but also have a Belkin USB Bluetooth adaptor connected to it as it provides class 1 transmission power. This adaptor is the one in main use. MacOS recognises it without any need for additional drivers as it has a Broadcom chip (shown in System Profiler), however there is one problem in that it refuses to pair with headsets. Belkin provided a fix for this in the form of a "Broadcom Mini Driver" kext, but it is PPC-only. So I am wondering if there is a way to have my headset pair with the Broadcom, e.g. by manually manipulating .plist files etc.. I can have the headset pair with my iBook G4 with the Belkin connected to it using Belkin's mini driver fix, perhaps that configuration could be copied over to the mini somehow?
