That may be related, but I doubt it. I'll try to be more clear. If I create a serial port using the Bluetooth Settings Panel under the "Sharing" tab. Then if I disable the port such that the settings panel reports "Bluetooth Serial Port Off" and the checkbox in the "On" column is unchecked. If I discover the available services on my Mac with an external device (such as a mobile phone), the Serial Ports that are "Off" are still reported in the discovery and I can connect to them with my external device such that the bluetooth status (in the menu bar) shows a connection. This is causing problems for me because I don't want these Serial Ports to be visible in a particular scenario. We see that when Bluetooth is enabled on the iMac (G5), and set to discoverable, and we have another master BT device trying to find devices to connect to (Serialio.com BlueSnap product supports such a mode) that the iMac will wake up from sleep when the other BT device attempts to connect. Don't know if this is related to this or not, but we'd be interested if anyone knows the details of why this occurs, and if there is an option to disable the 'feature'. _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
