Re: Mac as Bluetooth Headset
What I have always thought of as a very nifty application would be to integrate iChat with a bluetooth phone. All the 'bits' are there just the Bluetooth drivers need to be updated, and the bits need to be glued together. At the moment, the phone book is in the Mac, and shared with the phone (well, for modern bluetooth phones), the mac has a speaker and a mic. Would make for a nice handsfree kit. Just food for thought. The current bluetooth stack only supports a single SCO (audio) connection at a time, and only exposes it as an audio device so you can't hook it up to your phone via the handsfree profile. It would indeed be very nice for the Mac to 'route' phone calls to a Bluetooth headset, but it'll take improvements to the bluetooth stack to let it happen. I'm also not sure if the Bluetooth hardware builtin to the newer Macs can support more than one concurrent SCO connection. -- Anil Madhavapeddy http://anil.recoil.org University of Cambridge http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk _______________________________________________ bluetooth-dev mailing list | bluetooth-dev@lists.apple.com Help/Unsubscribe/Archives: http://www.lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/bluetooth-dev Do not post admin requests to the list.
