Re: Self-connect possible?
Correct. A CBCentralManager and a CBPeripheralManager supporting the same service UUIDs on the same device (whether the same app or different apps) will not be visible to each other over Bluetooth. A practical explanation of why this makes sense would be to think about what the RSSI value would look like for the peripheral when enumerated by the central :) On May 28, 2013, at 11:27 AM, Stuart Smith <stuart@elgato.com> wrote:
The iPhone can function as a peripheral or a server, at the same time. I doubt that it can communicate with itself, however. It is using the same radio and antenna for both transmit and receive, and it can't do both at exactly the same time. Stuart

There are no stupid questions, right? So: can the very same iOS device be peripheral and central at the same time? Or more specific: can the peripheral server connect to a central client that is listening on the same device? If yes: is there a code example? If not: why? Albrecht
