With all other Stacks I've worked so far (BlueZ on Linux and Widcomm and Stollmann on Windows) special options had to be given when a link should be encrypted. Is there a way to encrypt a link ? Either while initializing the link or when it is already connected ? Or is a link automatically encrypted when authentication of the remote device is requested ? Hi Moritz, this is not really a question related to the MacOS Bluetooth implementation, is it? As far as I know / read the BT standard, there is always encryption at the link layer. When devices pair, they generate a initialization key and a link key, you will find decent descriptions with your favourite search engine. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
