Hi All, I've developed a scoring system for Taekwondo and using a MacBook 13" and 5 or 7 referee devices. This system use BlueTooth for the data exchange. The devices for the referees supports BlueTooth V1.1 and can communicate up to 20m. Normaly the maximum distance between the MacBook and the referee devices are up to 15m. So the referee devices should not have a big problem with the distance. Five or seven of the referee devices are connected to the MacBook at the same time. This scoring system was used in many different environments (mainly sports halls). And my observation is, that in all the cases in those DECT (e.g. SIEMENS Giagaset) devices are installed the BlueTooth link was unstable if the distance is more than 5m. The "old" iBook doesn't interfered by DECT at all. In no environment the MacBook have (big) problems the BlueTooth link at the iBook works absolutley stable at a distance for up to 15m! Summary of my observations with the BlueTooth link in environments with DECT devices are available: * MacBook 13" (internal BlueTooth) very unstable and the maximum reachable distance is less than 5m * MacBook 13" with D-Link DBT 120 no observable problems * iBook (internal BlueTooth) no observable problems In environments WITHOUT ANY DECT devices the MacBook 13" have no problems to communicate with distances up to 12m with the referee devices. This is not so good as the "old" iBook but my customers can live with it. - Have someone else made the same observations? - Is there any solution to avoid the interference of the MacBook's internal BlueTooth by DECT?
